My dearest Aleixo, et All,

It is with great joy and pride that I share this message just received from you Aleixo, our brilliant doctor-son. Congratulations and blessings Al. You are your mother’s son for sure ….. Ha …. and of course Dad’s too…[notice how I’m taking all the credit first]… my heart is beaming with pride. I’m sure that still, fifty-seven years later, I know and am most grateful that God had a purpose bringing me to Canada, right? RIGHT !

Keep up the great work that God has blest you with, Aleixo . Having received two miracles from HIM via Joseph and Mikaela, my heart is forever grateful. You are truly blest, my son, and I’m sure my Dad, whose name you bear, is equally proud of you albeit in heaven as are my Mum and Mike’s parents too. I am truly touched. Be ever humbly  grateful that God chose you to be His right hand in healing the babies whom you devote your life to healing and to receiving His miraculous blessings. God is great, my son. The work you are doing as GI Specialist at SICKKIDS is marvellous. WONDERFUL.

My dearest Family and Friends, I know your hearts rejoice with me too. It is my distinct honour to be sharing this latest news with all of you. I Love you All.

All my love and congratulations once again.
God bless.
Mum/Yvette

Thank you Jo. Your words have warmed my heart. I am impressed by all who study and are involved in science. You as a science teacher is impressive. God bless. As a student at SJCSZ I had always wanted to be a doctor but not having had physics and chemistry at our school, then , I missed the boat…but my dreams were fulfilled by my son Aleixo . …blessings from heaven. I am forever grateful and humbly proud.

I remember John and Rosina’s heartache. Little did I now then that my son would be making such an impact in his research and treatment of the precious little children at SICKKIDS. I will forward your note to him.

Right now he is in New Zealand…invited to talk about his research, and to share his findings. He’s been invited by many countries to do that, over the years, and he has also received many awards too. I feel very blest. Our children are our pride and joy. Right?

Thank you Jo for your kind words. God bless.
Stay in touch.
Much love and blessings.
Yvette

Yvette - You a proud Mama!! - and rightly so. Get that chest puffed out.
This is such a significant discovery - his was not an easy undertaking, and this biochemistry/biotechnology teacher is duly impressed. Knowing the cause of the syndrome means they can work on the prevention of this heartbreaking disease.

We, on SJCSZ, perhaps remember that John DeSilva's daughter Alison (an incredible, amazing, young lady) was a patient because of a rare intestinal syndrome at the Hospital for Sick Kids for several years before she succumbed to her illness; but not before she, while still a patient, helped organize the fundraising affair - Red Tie Gala - with her parents, John and Rolina, and doctors at the hospital. For several years after her passing, her parents continued to be active in arranging the Red Tie Gala. John posted the invitation to the event on our yahoo forum. Pictures he posted showed it was always a grand affair.

It would be great if some of the monies from these galas helped fund the research in this discovery. And I bet there are and will be so many parents who are grateful to your son and his team. And I am sure that John and Rolina, and Carolyn and the other donors are grateful for your son's team and this significant discovery.

Congratulations to Dr. Alexio and his team, and to you, and your husband in the Spirit World (for both your genes ), and to all those who may have had a part, however small, in the research and discovery of the gene. Now they can work on how that gene can be tweaked to make it harmless.

Kudos to all.

Dearest Alwyn,

How wonderful to hear from you. Thank you for lifting my spirits with your kind words. I feel truly blest. Please feel free to share this wonderful news everywhere. God bless. You are most kind.

Yes, my Dad, Aleixo [Alex] must be doing the tango with Mum up in heaven in celebration of their grandson Aleixo of whom they were ever-so-proud. Their genes are bearing fruit with God’s help. Your parents were great tango dancers too, so you know what I’m saying. Blessings come in so many different ways. Right? Viva Zanzibar. Viva Unguja.

I am ever- so -proud of our doctor-son, yes a grandson of Zanzibar , even-so now on my solo fight into the galaxies, since January 2020. Ha. God Our Heavenly Father is always my guide , and my friends everywhere are my strength and my consolation. I couldn’t do without any of you. Thank you . Asante sana. Salaams. God bless.

Thanks once again Alwyn.
Much love and blessings to you and all your family.

Dearest Yvette.

The story of Aleixo is just amazing, I can not add anymore than what Jo has mentioned in her response.

“Yvette - You a proud Mama!! - and rightly so. Get that chest puffed out”. …..As per Jo

The Muise Family should be very proud of Aleixo’s achievements, it’s such a wonderful feeling to know that Aleixo is of a Zanzibari origin.

Your Dad was Alex too wasn’t he? How Proud would he have been to see his Grandson reach this level on a World Wide stage.

Could I share his write up with some of my Family and close friends?

Cheers, and all the best to You and the Rest of the Family

Alwyn
