I’m
sure everyone receiving this message agrees with me in congratulating
you today. We are so proud of you. I remember clearly the day you were
born, eighteen years ago, when GpaMike and I flew to Ottawa to see our
first grandchild….born at 26 weeks….. three months too soon, and
weighing less than 2 pounds. I remember too how your Dad took me to the
neo-natal unit to see you, the tiniest baby I had ever seen in my entire
life, you, with the strongest heartbeat, better than mine, and how I
put my hand on your incubator , with your Dad’s hand on my shoulder, and
begged God to look after you and keep you safe in His loving care, and I
told your Mum when I got back to her room, that she had nothing to
worry about, and you would be just fine, and I told my doctor son,
Aleixo, who was very worried, not to worry too as I had a direct line
to heaven. You are/were my second miracle baby, the first being Joseph.
We are ALL blest, having you in our lives.
God
has blest you, Mikaela and has endowed you with many gifts. A wonderful
future awaits you, Mik1. Your GpaMik2 agrees with me too, from heaven. I
also remember how, when you were two, when you heard that I sometimes
called GpaMike, ‘MIK2, ‘ you wanted to be called Mik2 as well, and you
settled for Mik1. Love you baby.
Your
second name is Marie…. the same as mine, and your Mum’s , and Mary’s ,
the Mother of Jesus. You are triply blest my dearest granddaughter.
All
my love and umpteen blessings. May you have a most successful and
beautiful future. Keep reaching for the stars in the highest heavens.
